With over 25 years of performance education and experience, Jessica Leigh Bennett has traveled, recorded, and performed as a violinist with numerous artist and groups both nationally and internationally acclaimed. She's proud to call Columbus, Georgia her home where she owns and operates the Columbus Music Academy, educating and inspiring students of all ages. Jessica began her musical journey as an inspired 6 year old watching an older elementary school student perform in a school wide rally.From then on, she knew her love for music would hold a special place in her life. After 12 years of rigorous study on the violin and viola, performing events and competing in numerous Fine Arts competitions, Jessica accepted her enrollment at Columbus State University's Schwob School of Music. During her time at Schwob, Jessica performed as principal violist in the CSU Philharmonic and Contemporary Ensemble. She also performed as a permanent violist in the Lagrange, Columbus, Albany, Montgomery, Macon, and Albany Symphonies as well as string quartets and rock, country, bluegrass, and folk bands. Since graduating, Jessica has performed and recorded in larger cities such as Nashville, Kansas City, and Atlanta. Jessica currently holds the associate conductor's position with the Youth Orchestra of Greater Columbus as well as String Director at Brookstone School. Jessica humbly serves as a music advocate within our state and local network for performing artist and music educators to provide endless opportunities for artistic and educational collaborations for those in our community.
